The Torch Newsletter Print Design
Newsletter Print Design
I worked with my team and the Sycamore Community School District 427 to design The Torch. This quarterly newsletter keeps the school community informed on key district updates, student achievements, and upcoming events. The goal was to create a clean, accessible layout that felt informative, welcoming, and consistent with the district’s brand.

Approach
Using the district’s brand colors, typography, and visual tone, I designed a flexible layout system for both print and digital use. I focused on strong hierarchy, readable type, and visual balance—making it easy for readers to scan and engage with the content quickly. Each edition includes recurring sections, photography, and callouts designed to highlight student stories and district-wide initiatives.
The Result
The final design gives the district a professional, branded newsletter that’s both functional and engaging. With a clear structure and consistent branding, The Torch supports effective communication and helps the district share stories, celebrate successes, and keep the community connected. The design supports the goals of the district: fostering transparency, connection, and pride within the school community.
